Line 1 connects the Northern outskirts of the city from Piscinola-Secondigliano to the Vomero commercial district, the city centre and the central station. The final route interconnects the three “entrances” to the city, represented by the port, the railway station and the airport.

Line 1 also connects the intermunicipal railway lines including line 2, the Circumvesuviana railway and the three funiculars that link the city centre to the Vomero hill.
