The Water service was set up in 1999 through the aggregation of the Water Supply and Sewage Sectors in the City of Milan and was commissioned to MM Spa in June 2003 on the basis of the agreement that is due to expire in 2037.

MM Spa manages the abstraction, purification and distribution of water, collects water from the sewer system and treats it before releasing it into the environment. In addition, MM Spa plans, designs and constructs new networks and plants and performs maintenance work on existing ones.
